    Martha ‘Fuff’ Faircloth

    Martha “Fuff” Faircloth was born on March 14, 1948, in Shady Grove.

    She died on April 23, 2026 at her home in Perry at the age of 78.

    She was the youngest of six children born to James Franklin “Jim” Faircloth and Ella Leola Cruce.

    Martha was a graduate of Taylor County High School in 1966.

    She worked for 35 years at Metal Products (the automotive business) in Madison.

    After the business closed, Martha went to work at Chemring Ordnance building rocket motors for 15 years, retiring in December 2017.

    Martha was an avid Gator fan, collecting a vast collection of Gator memorabilia. She loved watching sports of all types.

    She is preceded in death by: her parents Jim and Leola Faircloth; two sisters, Mary Jo O’Steen and Gay Nell Akins; three brothers, James (Jimmy) Redding Faircloth, Jackie Faircloth and Dennie Faircloth; and two special nephews, Michael “Mike” O’Steen and Michael Lamar Ancog.

    She is survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Her two nieces, Dawnese Sessoms and Clair Whiddon, were very special caregivers to her.

    A graveside service was held on Monday, April 27, at 10 a.m. in Hendry Cemetery in Shady Grove, with Pastor Billy Gipson officiating.
