Teacher is charged with sexual battery

Superintendent of Schools Paul Dyal was expected to recommend the firing of Taylor County High School (TCHS) teacher Christine Bennett, 24, during the school board’s regular meeting Tuesday night.

Bennett was arrested and charged with one count of sexual battery late Thursday afternoon, March 27, after admitting to investigators she had been involved in a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student.
