Julia Judy Tharpe

Juila Judy Tharpe, 71, passed away on May 17, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Judy was born in Perry to Floyce Murphy and Jewell Murphy.

She married the love of her life, Phillip Tharpe, on March 6, 1976. They shared 43 years of marriage together.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Phillip; her parents, Floyce and Jewell Murphy; her brother, Jack Murphy; and her nephew, David Wilson.

Judy was a homemaker and spent her life caring for her family. She was a loving wife, a caring mother and a proud granny.

She loved being with her children and grandchildren, and made each of them feel special. She was kind, gentle and always ready to listen.

Judy was a true friend to many and was loved for her warm heart and caring spirit.

She is survived by: her son, Jerrod Tharpe and his wife, Abbey; and her daughter, Marybeth Tharpe. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Ethan Williams, Lacey Tharpe, Hallie Tharpe and Julie Williams; as well as her twin sister, Cathy Wilson and her husband, Bob; her brothers, Billy Murphy, A.B. Murphy and Roger Murphy; and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Judy will be remembered for the love she gave to her family and the kindness she showed to others. She touched many lives and will be deeply missed. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 20, at 10 a.m. at Pisgah Cemetery with Ben Kimmel officiating.
