Cora Lee Burney of Perry passed away on May 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 6, at 1 p.m. at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, followed by interment at Springhill Cemetery. Viewing will be held Friday, June 5, from 4-6 p.m. at new Bethel P.B. Church. She is survived by: her children, Shawn Burney (Lucretia), Markes Robinson (Victoria), Jasmine Burney and nephew, Willie Phelps (Jazmine), who she raised as her own; brothers, Leroy Burney (Jackie) and Willie Burney (Dorothy); sisters, Viola Miller (James), Marie Branton (James), Ida Arnold, Mary Young and Josephine Burney; one sister-in-law, Mabel Burney; uncle, Jiles Washington (Sylvia); aunt, Ruby Green; 13 grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
