The Taylor County School District is projecting some $363,298 in savings due to staffing cuts, retirements and contracting out mental health services for the coming school year, and plans to use a portion of those savings to cover the increased salary costs of transitioning all dean positions to assistant principal (AP) positions for 2026-27 according to a preliminary plan proposed by Superintendent of Schools Reggie Wentworth.
