James Miller, 87, of Perry passed away on June 12, 2026, in Gainesville. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 20, at noon, at New Brooklyn Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a member. Visitation will be held Friday, June 19, from 4-6 p.m. at New Brooklyn. James is survived by: his wife, Viola B. Miller of Perry; his sons, Darrin A. Miller (Gisela) of Munich, Germany, Vincent A. Miller (Teresa), of Perry, Gerald Miller of Tallahassee, Ernest Bellamy Jr. of Perry and Robert T. Williams of Perry; daughters, Velma Miller of Monticello, Deborah Gutierrez (Blas) of North Carolina, Donna Miller Melton of Tallahassee, Janice Miller of Columbus, Ohio, Jennifer Upshaw (David) of Tallahassee, Tammy Simmons of Humble, Texas, and Simone Austin (Tony) of Perry; his sister, Annie Anderson of Kingsland, Ga.; brothers-in-law, Leroy Burney (Jackie) of Perry and Willie Burney, both of Perry; sisters-in-law, Evangelist Marie Branton (James), Ida Arnold, Mary Young, Josephine Burney and Mable Burney, all of Tallahassee; favorite niece, Sandy Robertson; greataunt, Ruby Green; greatuncle, Jiles Washington (Sylvia); 32 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
