Perry and Taylor County residents will have the opportunity to celebrate America’s 250th birthday celebration this 4th of July weekend with a fun-filled Independence Day weekend of activities planned Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4.
Fireworks, live music, food trucks crafts and family fun are on tap for a Fourth of July celebration at Rosehead Park Friday, July 3, beginning at 4 p.m.
Activities will also include a “Red, White & BOOM” patriotic attire contest at 6:30 p.m.
Contest categories include: Most Patriotic Spirit, Best DIY Creation, Funniest Outfit, Best Family/Group Theme, Little Firecracker (kids category), Stars & Stripes Glam and Most Creative American Theme.
Steinhatchee will hold back-to-back celebrations beginning Friday, July 3, including a Golf Cart Parade, “Movie in the Park” and vendors, and continuing Saturday, July 4, with vendors, a presentation from local historian and author Josh Goodman, live entertainment, a “mullet toss” and an awards ceremony for the “Best Dressed Storefront” contest.
The evening will end with a fireworks show at “dark-thirty” (9:30 p.m.).
Friday’s events will begin at 3 p.m., and the Golf Cart Parade will start at 7 p.m.
Saturday’s events will begin at 2 p.m., with the mullet toss from 3-5 p.m. and the awards ceremony at 7 p.m.
