July 31 fish fry benefits athletes traveling to Jr. Olympic games

Sheriff Wayne Padgett will host abenefit fish fry to support Taylor County gymnasts traveling to Iowa for the upcoming Junior Olympic games.

The fish fry will be held Friday, July 31, beginning at 11 a.m. and continuingwhile supplies last, at the wooded lot adjacent to Blue Coast Federal Credit Union (BCFCU).

Dinners — fried fish, sides and dessert — will be $10 each.

Cash donations will also be accepted.

The Taylor Gymnastics Cheerleading Dance & Theatre athletes will represent Taylor County at the 2026 AAU Junior Olympic Games Friday, Aug. 3, through Tuesday, Aug. 7, in Des Moines, Iowa.
