Judy Benefield Hall

Judy Benefield Hall walked into the arms of Jesus on July 22, 2026.

She was born on Aug. 28, 1950, in Moultrie, Ga., to J.B. and Lorene Benefield.

She lived a life firmly rooted in faith, family and service to others.

Following in the footsteps of her father, who was a pastor, Judy devoted much of her life to serving the Lord.

She was a faithful member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School and sang in the choir at various churches throughout the years.

Whether in the classroom, at church or in her home, Judy had a special gift for encouraging others and sharing God’s love.

Judy worked for both the Madison County, Fla., and Randolph County, Ga., school systems and also served as a relief postmaster in Randolph County.

While she valued her work, one of her greatest joys came when she stepped away from her career to become a full-time “Grammie,” a role she treasured above all others.

She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved crafting, tending to her flower beds and was well-known for her delicious homemade candy, especially during the Christmas season.

She faithfully stood beside her husband throughout his ministry, serving alongside him in every church he pastored. A devoted prayer warrior and loving partner, she exemplified the heart of a pastor’s wife.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, J.B. and Lorene Benefield; and her siblings, John Benefield Jr., Christine Kelly, Nadine Miller, Reba Kendrick and Jackie Lynn Benefield.

Judy leaves behind a legacy of faith and love that will continue through her family.

She is survived by: her beloved husband, Bobby Hall, with whom she shared 56 wonderful years of marriage; her daughters, Stacie Mote (Gary) and Jennifer Hall; her sisters, Betty Griffin, Sybil Benefield (Acie) and Cindy Benefield; her brothers, Jessie Benefield, James Benefield (Kay), Sidney Benefield (June) and Enoch Benefield (Rose); and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was a proud and loving “Grammie” to: Cody Bernstein (Becky), Brandon Bernstein (Aquazha Britt), Logan Bernstein (Holly English), Harley Beckham, Bailey Beckham, Haley Pressley (Luke), Jack Mote and Garrison Mote.

Her love also extended to her great-grandchildren, Landon and BrileyAnn Bernstein, Paislee Pressley, Brajah Bernstein and A’laya Jones.

She also lovingly embraced many of Logan’s, Harley’s and Bailey’s friends as her own.

Everyone who called her “Grammie” brought her tremendous joy.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Haven Hospice in Lake City for the compassionate care provided during Judy’s final days.

A special thank you is also extended to Acie and Sybil Dowling and to Cindy Benefield, whose constant love, support and presence brought comfort to Judy and her family during Judy’s last few days here on earth.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Judy’s faith has become sight. Her prayers, kindness, devotion to her family and unwavering love for the Lord will be remembered and cherished for generations to come.

In honor of Judy’s life and legacy, a celebration of her life will be held at the chapel in Joe P. Burns Funeral Home of Perry on Saturday, July 25, at 3 p.m. with Brother Henry Cannington officiating. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. in the chapel.

The family requests that you wear something blue, Judy’s favorite color, in her honor.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Judy’s memory to Haven Hospice-Suwannee Valley Care Center, 6037 West US Highway 90, Lake City, Florida 32055.
