‘Always trust in God’

His brave actions put him in the spotlight, but Taylor County Sheriff’s Deputy Robert Lundy gives the greater glory to a higher power.

“I thank the Lord Jesus Christ for his mercy on me. I don’t deserve any of it. It is so humbling and so awesome to see so many people in my corner. I am very thankful for their generosity. I don’t know what else to say.”

PHOTO: Deputy Robert Lundy donned a shirt and tie for the first time in weeks Monday to receive a special recognition (via a live internet feed) from area law enforcement. “It will be a real eye-opener when I am released and get to see and hear firsthand how all my law enforcement brothers and the community have come together for us. I don’t think it has really sunk in,” he said.
