It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Garrett Heath Dixon. He passed away on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026 at the age of 36 in Perry. Garrett was born on Jan. 2, 1990, in Tallahassee to Jody Dixon and Donna Kent. He was a devoted and loving son, brother, father, uncle, grandson and nephew. His greatest accomplishments were not measured by titles or awards, but by the life he built and the people he loved. He was a hardworking and dedicated welder who took great pride in his work. When he wasn’t working, he could often be found them. If you knew Garrett well, you know he always had to be doing something and went at everything nonstop; you knew he was a great cook; you knew he loved joking around and that when he was truly happy, his whole face lit up with a smile that will forever be missed. You also know that he never left without saying he loved you. Our lives will never be the same without him. Garrett was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Holden Kent and Donny Dixon, as well as his grandmother, Jackie Dixon Lollis. He is survived by: his children, Garrett (Heath) Jr., Manden and Mason Dixon; his Nana, Opal Mathis Kent; mother, Donna Kent; father and stepmom, Jody (Angela) Dixon; aunts, Angela Kent and Amanda Dixon, both of Perry; uncle, Martin Shaw of Perry; siblings, Sophia Padgett, Jordan Dixon, Kara Hunter and Jarrod Dixon; nephews, Raidyn and Emery Dixon; and nieces, Haizlyn Padgett and Elena Hunter; as well as many friends. Garrett will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for who he was by all who knew and loved him. The family will receive friends on Friday, Aug. 21, from 9-10 a.m. at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home. Services will follow with Pastor Billy Gipson officiating. Garrett will be laid to rest at Dixon Cemetery.
