Blanco receives American Fisheries Society ‘Award of Excellence’ for scallop outreach

UF/IFAS Marine Extension Agent Victor Blanco has received the prestigious American Fisheries Society (AFS) Award for Excellence in Public Outreach for his leadership in educating local stakeholders and communities about sustainable recreational scallop harvesting.

Give a man some scallops, and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to sustainably harvest scallops, and he will eat for generations to come.
