George Gary Pitts

George Gary Pitts was born on March 25, 1951, in Kinard, Fla. and passed away peacefully on Sept. 1, 2026. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Gary is survived by: within minutes of meeting him will live on in our memories. his wife, Sheila Pitts; two daughters, Paula Pitts Garner of Lakeland and Donna Pitts Ray of Perry; two step-sons, Quint Bodiford and Troy Bodiford, both of Perry; his brother, Wallace Pitts, and wife, Darla, of Perry; sisters, Windell Johnson and Sharon Morris, both of Perry; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his father, Jesse Edward Pitts; mother, Lottie Pickron Pitts; brother, Terry Pitts and wife, Pat. He worked at Tom’s Foods in Perry for 18 years and Rich’s Seafood in Brunswick, Ga., for 18 years before retiring. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and time with family and friends. His love for all of those who were around him and strangers that soon became friends A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 1 p.m. at the Freeman residence in Perry.
