    McCullough recalls watching the events of 9/11 unfold in England

    Donald J. Loyd was a believer of absolutes.

    Kay McCullough, who was on a month-long trip to England with her parents in September 2001, has a large collection of British newspapers covering the Sept. 11 tragedy in America.

    So, when a well-meaning local woodcarver in scenic Devonshire, England expressed his sympathy for the collapse of the Twin Towers on Sept. 11, 2001, Loyd not only brushed aside the comments, he completely rejected the very idea that the pair of 110-story skyscrapers, located at the center of the World Trade Center complex in New York City, could ever fall.
