State Senator Corey Simon (right), shown speaking to School Board member Deidra Dunnell and Willie Anderson, was the featured speaker at Duke Energy’s “Partners in Progress” luncheon series at the Perry Women’s Club Friday. Simon touted the $131 million in state-funded projects for the 13 counties in his district and urged Taylor Countians to work together to have “shovel ready” infrastructure projects prepared to take advantage of grant funding aimed at rural communities.
