    Supt. Wentworth apologizes for ‘poor choice of words’

    The Perry City Council held the first of two required public hearings on its proposed 2026-27 fiscal year budget on Thursday, Sept. 10, tentatively adopting a $33.3 million budget that includes a 4.7% property tax (millage rate) increase, utility rate hikes ranging from 5% to 10% and $18 million in grant funding.
