    Barry Denison

    Barry Denison, 84, passed away peacefully on Sept. 15, 2026, in Perry.

    Born in October 1941, Barry lived in Cheboygan, Mich., before making Perry his home in 1990.

    Barry dedicated 50 years of his life to working with Procter & Gamble, Buckeye and Georgia-Pacific. He took pride in his work and enjoyed staying in touch with former coworkers.

    Barry loved racing cars, NASCAR, FSU football and baseball, and concerts.

    He was a longtime member of the NRA, the Harley Owners Group and enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

    He enjoyed spending time at his cottage on Douglas Lake in Michigan, riding jet skis and going on airboat rides.

    Barry had a lifelong love of animals and cared for many beloved pets, including cats, dogs, birds, ferrets, skunks, raccoons and squirrels.

    He attended First United Methodist Church in Perry and enjoyed Wednesday night suppers with his church friends.

    Barry was a kind and unselfish man who always put his family first and would do anything for those he loved.

    He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet Denison, and his parents, Leo and Millicent Denison.

    He is survived by: his daughters, Wendi Denison and Bethany Freeman (Bry); grandsons, Brett Freeman and Bradley Freeman; and special friend, Donna Dayton, who lovingly cared for him during his final days.

    A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 18, at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Perry.

    In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Barry’s memory to First United Methodist Church or Taylor County Animal Advocates in Perry.

    Samantha Lyles died Sept. 03, 2026, at her home in Shady Grove.

    Arrangements will be held at a later date. Burns Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
