Hinkel hired to replace Brown

The Taylor County Commission’s search for a new county administrator to replace Jack Brown lasted about 15 minutes, with the board voting 4-1 to offer Assistant County Administrator Dustin Hinkel a one-year contract to fill the soon-to-be vacant position.

The commission made the decision at a special meeting held Monday, during which Brown gave his formal notice that he was leaving his position here to become Escambia County’s (Pensacola) new administrator.
