U.S. Army combat veteran and incoming Third Judicial Circuit Judge John Weed will be the keynote speaker for the annual Veterans Day Luncheon planned Wednesday, Nov. 11, at noon at Forest Capital Hall.
Sponsored by the county, the free luncheon is open to all veterans and their families.
Weed deployed to Somalia and Iraq during his Army career, and has nearly 20 years serving with the State Attorney’s Office.
The luncheon will follow a flag-changing ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park presided over by the Taylor County High School JROTC.
The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. The flag being raised over the park will honor the late Lowell C. Neeley.
