    Clarification:

A Florida Highway Patrol spokesman has clarified a statement attributed to him in a story in the April 23 edition of the Taco Times concerning the teen driver involved in a fatal crash on March 16 of this year.

The spokesman said he should not have stated that the at-fault driver was “distracted” by his cell phone as evidence indicated only that a cell phone may have been in use at the time.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) has released the name of the at-fault driver in a two-vehicle crash that claimed the life of Wayne Gregory Dean, 56, of Perry.

Charges remain pending against Taylor County High School (TCHS) student Hennry J. Jay IV, 17, FHP officials said Tuesday.
