Even with eight straight days of sunny weather, many areas of the county remain under water and officials are keeping a wary eye on a weather system expected to bring as much as two to three inches of additional rain to the area Tuesday and today (Wednesday).
“The water table is just holding so much water in places we typically count on the ground soaking it up, it’s simply not doing that,” said Taylor County Assistant County Administrator Dustin Hinkel, who is also director of Taylor County Emergency Management.
