Historical Society hosts banquet

The Taylor County Historical Society will host an Awards Banquet & Music Showcase Saturday, May 24, at 6 p.m., at the Perry Woman’s Club.

Tickets are $10 each and include a chicken or pork dinner. Musical entertainment will be provided by Taylor Chaffin, the New Brooklyn Choir and duo Mike Denmark and Buddy Murphy.

The W.T. Cash Scholarship will be awarded during the evening and this year’s recipient of the Dr. Wilson T. Hendry-Dr. W.H. Peacock Award will be recognized.

Tickets are available at the Historical Society (open Thursday from 1-5 p.m.) and at the offices of Perry Newspapers, Inc.
