Supervisor of Elections Dana Southerland reminds potential candidates for local offices that the deadline to register by the petition method is just a few weeks away.
“Anyone who would like to be a candidate for a county office, and who would like to qualify by the petition method, has just until Monday, May 19, to return their signed petitions to the elections office. If they don’t, they will have to pay the qualifying fee during the qualifying period in June,” Southerland said.
