Cancer survivors led the first lap of this year’s Relay For Life benefitting the American Cancer Society. More than half a dozen teams gathered at Forest Capital Park for the 12-hour event, which kicked off Friday evening and wrapped up at 6 a.m. Saturday. Participants included a traveler who happened upon the event while stopping in Perry for the night. The woman is traveling across the country in memory of her father, who died from cancer.
