    City, Brown to share attorney

    Posted on May 16, 2014

Officials were served with papers last week related to the federal lawsuit filed by City Council candidate Tonya Holton; on Tuesday, the Perry City Council (on behalf of the City of Perry) and City Manager Bob Brown agreed to share joint legal representation in the case—a move that will save city taxpayers $5,000.

“Our deductible (with the insurance company) is $5,000. If we opt for two separate attorneys (one to represent the city and the other to represent the city manager) we would have to pay a second deductible,” Brown explained.
