    Flooding conditions worsen with another six inches of rain

    After more than a week of mostly dry weather, Taylor County received another bout of strong storms late Wednesday and early Thursday, dropping as many as six inches of rain in some areas of the county, exacerbating local flooding problems.

    The storms quickly swelled local rivers, and by Thursday afternoon the Steinhatchee River had already risen more than six feet in just 24 hours, inches away from minor flood stage.
