Georgia Pacific’s Foley Cellulose Mill experienced a chlorine dioxide release Wednesday morning, forcing the company to clear part of its facility until the problem could be resolved.
“At approximately 8:45 a.m., we were notified of an accidental release of chlorine dioxide, which is used in the pulp purification process,” Public Affairs Manager Scott Mixon said. “To our knowledge, there have been no injuries whatsoever.”
