Smith to question Brown, city

Former Taylor County state representative, newspaper owner and coach Ken Smith has asked to be on next Tuesday’s Perry City Council meeting agenda to discuss issues he says he has had with City Manager Bob Brown regarding his property located at 224 North Jefferson Street and a parcel of land he donated to the city two years ago.

In an e-mail sent to Brown’s administrative assistant, Delois Clayton on Monday (and copied to the Taco Times) Smith stated: “Please include my name on the agenda of the council meeting scheduled for 6-24-14. I need, and the council needs, to discuss problems relating to my property located at 224 North Jefferson Street and the adjacent property I donated to the City of Perry in August 2012 to assist the efforts to revitalize the city’s downtown district.
