8U Girls Softball Team finishes season as district runner-up

Taylor County’s 8-U Girls All-star Softball team finished as runner-up in the District 3 tournament last week and are now headed to the Babe Ruth Softball State Championships to be held June 26-30 in Lake City.

The girls got off to a rough start in the regular season, falling in away games to teams in Jasper, Mayo and Branford. “They did not give up, however, and worked hard to defeat those very teams to place second in the District 3 Tournament held last week in Madison,” the coach said.
