The State Attorney’s Office announced Friday it would not be pursuing sexual battery charges against former Taylor County High School teacher Christine Bennett, who admitted to having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student.
Evidence in the case later showed her involvement with three male students.
In Friday’s press release, officials citied Florida Statute 794.05, which states it is unlawful for a person 24 years of age or older to have sexual activity with a minor 16 or 17 years of age.
