In an attempt to alleviate overcrowding within the county courthouse, commissioners are finalizing the purchase of a former convenience store on U.S. 19 to be the future home of the Taylor County Supervisor of Elections office.
County commissioners unanimously approved closing paperwork Monday night for the property, which they are purchasing for $137,000. The board included funds for the purchase in its 2013-14 budget.
