Sadler case clears first hurdle

City resident William C. Sadler Sr., left, and his attorney, Sally Jean Roberts, appeared before Judge Greg Parker Thursday afternoon, to further Sadler’s bid to be placed on the upcoming ballot as a candidate for the City Council Dist. 4 seat currently held by Councilman Don Cook. Parker was poised to issue an alternate writ of mandamus ordering the city to produce evidence supporting why its initial disqualification of Sadler as a candidate should stand. Additional hearings were pending.
