Deputy charged with perjury

A veteran Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) deputy has been suspended without pay following his arrest on felony perjury charges July 10.

Nelson “Big Bird” Gilbreath Jr., 46, turned himself in at the Taylor County Jail and was released on his own recognizance (ROR) the same day.
