The 21st annual Perry-Taylor County Chamber of Commerce Golf Scramble “was a success,” raising more than $6,000 for the organization, Director Dawn Taylor announced Tuesday.
Some 16 teams took part in the event, held Friday, Aug. 8, at the Perry Golf & Country Club. They included: Doctors’ Memorial Hospital, Cline Moore-Attorney, Clothesline, Buckeye Community Federal Credit Union, Duke Energy, Big Top Manufacturing, Ware Oil & Company, Burns Funeral Home/Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia-Pacific, Reggie’s Bunch, Foley Timber & Land Company, Snyder’s- Lance Company, Hit It & Hope Ladies Team, Chemring Ordnance (two teams) and Yates Construction. Winners were (best gross scores) Ware Oil, first place; Cline Moore team, second place; and Georgia-Pacific, third place.
