Thunderstorm causes delay on 1st day of new school year

An afternoon thunderstorm struck just as the first day of school ended for Taylor County students Monday, adding a few snags into what is already an involved process for officials helping children find their bus rides home.

Superintendent Paul Dyal said that other than the rain delay, however, the first day of the 2014-15 school year provided a “very, very good start.”
