Judge approves new congressional districts

Tallahassee Circuit Judge Terry P. Lewis has approved a new congressional district map passed last month by the Florida Legislature, also deciding that the new map will not affect this year’s elections.

In his lastest ruling, which Judge Lewis issued Friday, Aug. 22–only days before the state’s Primary Election–he said he would not delay the current election cycle, although attorneys representing the groups challenging the original map have not ruled out an appeal.
