Lloyd Phelps, 60, has been in jail since September awaiting trail for the 2006 killing of Patricia “Niece” Knight and, through his team of court-appointment attorneys, let it be known Monday that he is ready to get out.
During hearings before Judge Greg Parker, Phelp’s attorneys said they were ready to proceed to trial as early as May.
Typically, murder trials take more than 12 months before reaching the trial stage.
