    62 cases are handled in first ‘Truancy Court’ addressing student attendance

    With only 180 days in the school calendar, every minute of instruction counts—especially when it comes to laying a solid foundation for a student’s math and reading skills.

    That’s the message the Taylor County School District hopes to impress upon parents as it addresses rampant unexcused absences through a new “Truancy Court” program.
