County considers $1/hr raise for workers

In 2012, the Taylor County Commission gave employees a three-percent raise, their first raise in five years. In its proposed 2014-15 county budget, which the board will finalize during two public hearings held over the next two weeks, the commission has included a $1 per hour raise for all full and part-time employees.

The commission will hold its first budget hearing Monday, Sept. 10, at 5 p.m. to set the tentative budget. A second hearing will be held Monday, Sept. 17, at 5 p.m. to approve the finale budget and millage rates. The 2014-15 fiscal year begins Oct. 1.
