Paddling Adventure is this weekend in Steinahtchee, Jena

Steinhatchee and Jena will play host to the fifth annual Hidden Coast Paddling Adventure (HCPA) this weekend (Oct. 3-5).

This year the event has expanded to include a pre-festival paddle with primitive overnight camping on Butler Island, one of the stops on the Big Bend Saltwater Paddling Trail.

A morning birding tour with FWC, a pontoon boat ride and a tour of Steinhatchee Landing will provide non-paddling options as well.

On Saturday afternoon the public is invited to visit the Steinhatchee Community Center to see a variety of displays and to observe Deb Akins share her skills building a wooden kayak.
