Cake auction, yard sale benefit family

Two fund-raisers benefitting Ricky Peterson and his family will be held today (Friday) and Saturday.

The first, an online cake auction, opens at 11 a.m. on Facebook (Benefit Cake Auction for Ricky Peterson) and closes at 6 p.m.

A yard sale and raffle will be held Saturday at Perry Connections (formerly Jackson’s Furniture), starting at 8 a.m.

Tickets will be available for a chance to win a cam-locker toolbox donated by American Aluminum Accessories. Peterson, who sustained traumatic brain injuries in a four-wheeler accident in August 2011, will draw the winning tickets at 3 p.m.

Peterson has been given the opportunity to undergo extensive therapy at Brooks Rehab Hospital in Jacksonville for the next two to three
months.

Proceeds from the fund-raisers will help his family with relocation expenses.
