VA clinic efforts delayed, again

Taylor County’s efforts to establish a new U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) clinic in Perry appear to have been delayed again, as local officials are now awaiting a supplemental lease agreement from the federal agency for the county-owned building set to house the clinic.

After more than a year of discussions with VA representatives, the Taylor County Commission approved a lease agreement for the building in June. The lengthy document, which tops 60 pages, details the modifications needed to make the building suitable to the VA. The building is located at 1218 Peacock Avenue, across the street from the Florida Department of Health in Taylor County.
