Owen Carson McCall Jr., 46, of Mayo, formerly sheriff for Lafayette County, died Friday, March 22, 2013, at Haven Hospice of Lake City following an extended illness.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Monday, March 25, at the Alton Church of God Family Life Center in Mayo with Tim Hamm officiating. Interment followed in Bethel Cemetery.

The family received friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alton Church of God Building Fund. All arrangements were under the care of Joe P. Burns Funeral Home of Mayo.
