For teachers and administrators at Taylor County Elementary School (TCES) and Perry Primary School (PPS), the recent adjustment of the elementary school’s grade from a “D” to a “C” was more than simply a letter, as the schools have been released from direct oversight by the Florida Department of Education (DOE).
TCES’s original score of a “D,” its third in a row, necessitated “differentiated accountability” oversight by DOE mandated for lower performing schools. Perry Primary School is the lone feeder school to TCES so it received the same grade and the mandated oversight.
