Main Street Perry is joining forces with the Perry-Taylor County Chamber of Commerce to host a Hallow-ing Good Time Halloween event Friday, Ocdt. 31.
The chamber will kick off the festivities at 5 p.m. with its annual Costume Contest & Pumpkin Carving Contest. Awards will be presented for best costume, scariest costume, best group costume and best recycled costume.
Families are then invited to stroll downtown for Main Street’s Trunk or Treat event. Decorated trucks and booths will be giving away candy all around the courthouse square, including Main, Green and Jefferson streets.
More booths are needed, organizers said. Please contact Feebee Houck at Photos, Frames & Trophies for additional information. Registration is required.
Free cotton candy and popcorn will be given away; concessions (hot dogs, drinks and chips) will be available for purchase.
This will be a pedestrian-friendly event, with Jefferson Street and side streets all closed to traffic (from Lafayette Street down to Ellis Street).
