Frosty start for fall

Many Taylor County residents woke up Monday morning to frost on their lawns and ice on their vehicle windshields after the area received its first freeze of the season.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) station at Perry-Foley Airport, the temperature dropped below freezing around 5 a.m. and remained there for much of the next two and a half hours, prompting a freeze warning from the NWS.
