    City’s attorney: ‘Case snarled by Holton’s lies, admissions of illegal conduct’

    Over a span of several months, former city board representative Tonya Holton lobbied what an opposing attorney has called “a widespread and well-documented platform of conspiracy allegations and inflammatory criticism” against the City of Perry and its lead manager, Bob Brown.

    She was called to defend that campaign during a nearly 10-hour long deposition taken in relation to a now defunct federal lawsuit filed against the city in late March.

    Her responses, and admissions, in the deposition prompted the city’s attorney in the case, J. David Marsey, to send an 11-page letter to Holton’s attorney underscoring what he deemed the “frivolous” nature of her claims and detailing the city’s intent to seek sanctions against her.
