Honor courage sacrifice

Taylor County’s servicemen and women were honored during a trio of events held Tuesday, Nov. 11–Veterans Day 2014.

Retired Army colonel Isadore “Izzy” Rommes took the podium as keynote speaker for the 20th annual Veterans Day Ceremony hosted by the Taylor County High School JROTC.

Veterans sat center-court in the high school gymnatorium as Rommes encouraged the students assembled in the flanking bleachers to remember John F. Kennedy’s iconic admonition to a new generation: “Ask: what can you do for your country?”
