Celebrated director Steven Spielberg (“Schindler’s List,” “Saving Private Ryan”) has brought us “Lincoln,” a compelling political drama focused on the president’s behind-thescenes efforts to ensure the amendment’s passage as well as a passionate look at the man behind the historical figure left to us in the pages of history books. Spielberg’s film, which is sure to be remembered as a classic, is now available on DVD and Blu-ray.
Spielberg’s “Lincoln” may not be the movie people might expect, but it is just as compelling and tension-filled as any war drama. Credit goes to screenwriter Tony Kushner (“Angels in America,” “Munich”) for developing the tale and dialogue, and to Spielberg and the cast for bringing it to life.
The film is rated PG-13 for an intense scene of war violence, some images of carnage and brief strong language.
