Ready for a smokin’ good time?

With more than 50 professional barbecue cook teams and some 120 judges expected in town the seventh annual Southern Pine Blues & BBQ Festival, several local hotels are already booked solid this weekend.

That is the message this week from festival coordinator Dawn Taylor, who also serves as president of the Taylor County Tourism Development Council (TDC), which sponsors the two-day event set for Friday and Saturday at Forest Capital State Park. Admission to the festival is free.
